PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bed density optimization method and its system for a bed material of a pressurized fluidized bed boiler, which automatically optimizes a bed density. SOLUTION: This bed density optimizing method includes processes of: (S1) detecting pressure loss in a fluidized bed; (S2) estimating a bed density of BM (Bed Material), based on the detected pressure loss; (S3) judging whether the estimated bed density of BM is within a predetermined allowable range; and (S4) optimizing the bed density of BM when it is determined that the bed density of BM is over the predetermined allowable range.
