PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing member having a hollow part and a method for connecting the sealing member, capable of preventing water intrusion into the hollow part through a molding connection part and also providing long-term durability. SOLUTION: The extruded part 20 of the sealing member 10 has a first mounting base 22 attached, for example, to a flange provided in the casing opening of the engine of a ship, and a first seal part 24 arranged to the first mounting base 22 and having the hollow part 24a. The extruded part 120 of the sealing member 10 has a second mounting base 122 connected to the first mounting base 22 and also attached to the flange, and a second seal part 124 provided to the second mounting base 122, connected to the first seal part 24, and formed by a substantial body.
