A piston member (12) of a hydraulic servo (2) for a brake has a holding section (35) for holding return springs (14). The holding section (35) of the piston member (12) holds the return springs (14) relative to a rotation direction so that it can retract in an axial direction. The return springs (14) are secured to fixation sections (15a) of a return plate (15) and the return plate (15) is secured by bolts (25) to bolt holes (6bc) in a partition wall member (6b). By this construction, the piston member (12) is non-rotatably fixed to the partition wall member (6b),so that, without providing a claw at the piston member (12), the piston member (12) is prevented from rotating.
