A concrete structure which as described is a horizontal structure, comprises a layer of material 3 extending over the whole area of the structure, a series of parallel open ended formers 2 made from fibre board adjacent to the said layer and a layer of concrete 7 which embeds the formers 2 and keys to said layer of material 3. The material 3 may be of plasterboard or Other sheets or panels or may be formed by plaster-coated expanded metal. The formers may be spaced apart, or apertures may be provided in flanges of adjacent contacting formers, to allow the concrete 7 to contact the material 3.
