<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbocharger capable of shortening an axial center direction of a disc wheel compared to a conventional turbocharger. <P>SOLUTION: The turbocharger is provided with a compound disc wheel 11 in which a turbine disc wheel and a compressor disc wheel are coaxially and integrally formed and the diameter of a boundary part of the turbine disc wheel and the compressor disc wheel is set to approximately exceed the disc wheel diameter; a housing 16 for storing the compound disc wheel 11; and a disc wheel bearing 32 provided in the housing 16 and rotatably supporting the compound disc wheel 11. The internal space of the housing 16 is divided into a turbine chamber 35 and a compressor chamber 36 by the compound disc wheel 11. The disc wheel bearing 32 is arranged in a portion of the housing 16 positioned in the outer side of the outer peripheral part of the compound disc wheel 11, supports the boundary part of the turbine disc wheel and the compressor disc wheel of the compound disc wheel 11, and blocks flowing of fluid between the turbine chamber 35 and the compressor chamber 36. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
