<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric drive unit of high performance, with which an error included in output information of a magnetic pole position sensor incorporated in an electric machine device is reduced and ripple torque of the electric machine device, which occurs by influence of the error, can be suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The electric drive unit is provided with a sensor output correcting circuit 15 correcting output information of the magnetic pole position sensor 11 incorporated in a permanent magnet rotating electric machine 1. Position sensor output correction information for correcting output information of the magnetic pole position sensor 11 is obtained in accordance with output information of a current sensor 13. Output information of the magnetic pole position sensor is corrected in accordance with position sensor output correction information.
