<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical terminator that facilitates operation on the job site of installing an optical fiber and that makes anti-reflection processing attainable without damaging the optical fiber, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical terminator is characterized in that a refractive index matching binder is filled in part of the hole of a resin tube having the hole for inserting an optical fiber. The method of manufacturing the terminator is characterized in that it includes: a step of injecting the refractive index matching binder solution from one end of the heat shrinkable resin tube having the hole for inserting an optical fiber; and a step of filling the refractive index matching binder in the part of the hole of the resin tube by heating/contracting the heat shrinkable resin tube after the injection of the solution and simultaneously by volatilizing the solvent in the solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
