PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material testing machine allowing optimum detail display in response to a processing item from a graph displaying a test result, even without sufficient knowledge about the testing machine and without skill in an operation for a device. SOLUTION: This material testing machine is provided with: a distance calculation part 26 for calculating a distance between a display position for displaying a calculation result of the processing item on the graph C, and an indication position 31 for a pointing device, on a screen of a display 3; and a detail display method storage part 24 for storing a manner of the detail display in every of the processing items while a determination part 27 determines whether the found distance is within a preset distance or not, and; wherein the optimum detail displays is always performed as to the processing item, by executing automatically the detail display as to the processing item, when the indication position 31 for the pointing device approaches within the distance with respect to the display position for displaying the calculation result of the processing item.
