[Also in Division F2] Noxious products, e.g. radio-active capsules, are passed through a fluid-tight joint (see Division F2) in a containment wall P as follows: caps 4 and 2 are removed and a funnel unit consisting of a funnel tube 6, a resilient tubular connection 7, a protective envelope 8 and a container 19 is fitted in the joint passage and cap 2 is replaced. Cap 5 is removed, the container 9 filled and cap 5 is replaced. Container 9 is separately extracted, cap 4 replaced and caps 3 and 5 removed. The funnel unit is drawn into the containment and caps 3 and 5 are replaced. The protective envelope 8 is used to wipe the outer surface of container 9 as it is removed. The containment may be a glove box.</p> |
