The glass production process involves chemically pre-stressing the sol-gel-coated glass pane (3), which has been hardened at a temperature of over 200[deg] C after tempering it in a medium containing potassium, so that the sodium ions of the glass are brought out by the potassium ions on the surface on both sides (5, 7) or in the regions (15) close to the surface. Ion exchange takes place through the tempered coating (9).
