<p>A pump (1) has a pump chamber (2) with an air inlet (3) so that compressed air can be injected into the pump chamber (2). Liquid to be pumped is able to enter a liquid entry chamber (7) through a liquid inlet (5). A delivery pipe (4) delivers liquid and air to a location remote from the pump (1), e.g. to ground level. The delivery pipe (4) and the pump chamber (2) are in fluid communication. The liquid entry chamber (7) and the delivery pipe (4) are in fluid communication. An inlet (6) introduces air from the pump chamber (2) into the delivery pipe (4). Liquid that enters the liquid entry chamber (7) is carried by air along the delivery pipe (4) to the location remote from the pump (1).</p> |
