<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance having life prolongation effect and antiaging effect, a substance having infection-protecting effect and vaccine effect, and to provide a method for efficiently assaying these substances. <P>SOLUTION: The life prolongation-effective substance characterized by enhancing Sirtuin gene activity, and the infection-protecting effect and vaccine effect-promoting substance characterized by enhancing AID (activation-induced cytidine deaminase) gene activity are provided, respectively. Foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or reagents each containing either one of the above substances are also provided, respectively. Further, a construct for assaying the life prolongation-effective substance, characterized by having a polynucleotide having Sirtuin gene promoter activity, and a construct for assaying the infection-protecting effect and vaccine effect-promoting substance, characterized by having a polynucleotide having AID gene promoter activity, are provided, respectively.
