<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely control an add-in board to be installed later in a television device operated using a remote control transmitter. <P>SOLUTION: The television device 10 includes the remote control transmitter 2 having a mode selector button, and a television receiver 1 having a television main body unit 3 and the add-in board 6. The television main body unit 3 transmits a remote control code received from the remote control transmitter 2 to the add-in board 6 as it is without converting it, and the add-in board 6 prestores extension codes for remote control operation, and when an extension code is detected among remote control codes from the television main body unit 3 during add-in board operation by mode switching, an add-in board control unit 65 controls the add-in board 6 with the extension code and does not detect the extension code, and when a code for controlling the television main body unit 3 is detected, the add-in board control unit 65 remotely operates the television main body unit 3 with the code.
