<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost for a troubleshooting function for detecting abnormalities (open circuit/short circuit) in a circuit on a motor side and improve accuracy of troubleshooting in a drive device of the brushless motor. <P>SOLUTION: This drive device for the three-phase brushless motor 2 includes a terminal monitor circuit 16 which monitors terminal voltage of output terminals Drv connected with motor terminals 6 of the respective phases UVW for detecting abnormalities (open circuit/GND short circuit/+B short circuit) in the circuit on the motor side. A microcomputer 20 starts troubleshooting on condition that rotation of the motor 2 stops and an object to be driven normally operates during driving the motor, switches on/off only a transistor Tr1 in the driving circuit 12 of U phase with all transistors Tr1, Tr2 being off in the driving circuit 12 of the respective phases UVW during troubleshooting, and obtains a monitor signal from the respective terminal monitor circuits 16, thus performing troubleshooting of the circuit on the motor side based on a signal level of the obtained monitor signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
