<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display element suppressing light leakage, from a direction of crossing a viewing angle direction, while ensuring display quality. <P>SOLUTION: Shield portions 24a of a parallax barrier layer 24 are formed in a checkered pattern corresponding to respective sub-pixels 11, while being displaced in an up direction crossing a display direction of an image. The shield portions 24a are prevented from being viewed in vertically successive stripes to improve display quality, and the light leak from the up direction crossing the viewing angle direction which is the display direction of the image can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
