PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam cap enabling to supply a sufficient amount of lubricating oil as required for lubricating the bearing of a camshaft since starting an engine. SOLUTION: The cam cap 10 is provided for rotatably supporting the camshaft 40 in cooperation with the bearing 32 formed on a cylinder head cover 30. It comprises porous materials 20 provided on both sides of a supporting face 11 of the cam cap 10 in opposition to the camshaft 40 for serving as lubricating oil trapping mechanisms which can hold lubricating oil and supply the held lubricating oil to the camshaft 40.
