PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing apparatus which can execute processing in accordance with to kinds of data while enabling the setting of a communication mode in accordance with to the kinds of data transmitted by a packet communication system by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This data processing apparatus 1 processes continuous transmission data 30 continuously transmitted from data a transmission apparatus 100 including the synchronization information of a multiple communication and transmission data having a data header following to the synchronization information and processing data following the data header, and is provided with a synchronization information detection part 3 which detects the synchronization information included in the continuous transmission data 30, a communication mode setting part 4 which sets the communication mode of the transmission data following the synchronization information based on the synchronization information detected by the synchronization information detection part 3, and a data processing part 5 which performs data processing corresponding to the communication mode of the transmission data set by the communication mode setting part 4 to the processing data included in the transmission data.
