PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film which realizes high grade brightness, can give high quality images and is good in dimensional stability as a member without irregularity and detects, when used as the member for LCD, PDP, organic EL, or projection displays, and to provide a polyester film which realizes high grade brightness, can give high quality images and is good in optical performance without irregularity and detects, when used as a member for LCD, PDP, organic EL, or projection displays. SOLUTION: This optical biaxially oriented polyester film comprising a polyester film is characterized by having a film haze in a range of 1.0 to 3.0% and a single film transmission color tone comprising a value x and a value y each in a range of 0.300 to 0.325.
