PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsification/dispersion apparatus from which an emulsified/dispersed liquid can be obtained as a product free from bubbles or free from its deterioration even if some bubbles exist therein and to provide an emulsification/dispersion method. SOLUTION: A multistage depressurization module, in which depressurization cells are connected to one another in a multistage manner through seals, is connected to the outlet side of the emulsification/dispersion apparatus directly or through a heat exchanger. The multistage depressurization module applies a given backpressure to the emulsification/dispersion apparatus and reduces the backpressure in a stepwise manner through the series of depressurization cells so as to prevent the occurrence of bubbling even when an emulsified liquid is released to atmosphere. The occurrence of bubbling can be prevented in both processes of forming the emulsified liquid and taking out the emulsified liquid as the product. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
