PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shredding apparatus which can easily remove shreds from a discharge part of shreds and prevent shreds from scattering. SOLUTION: The discharge part 60 for discharging shreds from a paper treatment apparatus has a discharge guide 61. The discharge guide 61 forms a discharge passage of nearly rectangular shape, the sectional shape of which is larger than that of a discharge hole 61E, by the side board part 61B and the lower side board part 61C, and the upper side of the lower side board part 61C forming the lower side of the discharge passage remains open. The upper edge of the side board part 61B and the lower side board part 61C forms an opening part 62 of the discharge passage, and a cover 63 is so arranged as to be opened and closed, at the opening part 62.
