PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening a therapeutic agent of cardiac failure by using a heart failure model zebra fish, and to provide a method for identifying the same. SOLUTION: This method for selecting a candidate substance of the therapeutic agent of cardiac failure comprises each of the processes of administering a test substance to the zebra fish; showing the cardiac failure symptoms induced by tacrolimus hydrate; measuring the expression of a PECI (peroxysome D3,D2-enoyl-CoA isomerase) gene, when the expression of the PECI gene is inhibited when the test substance is administered, as compared with that when the test substance is not administered; and selecting the test substance as the candidate substanceo of the therapeutic agent for cardiac failure.
