PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric fishing reel which enables timely switching to a winding speed suitable for a winding load state, and simultaneously enables a motor output control in a fine low-speed state adapted to the state of a fishing spot. SOLUTION: When overload condition is set for a spool driving motor and the overload condition is satisfied during driving of a spool driving motor in a high speed state of a mechanical speed change device, the mechanical speed change device automatically changes to a low speed state and the whole operation region of an adjuster for motor output becomes within the range of motor output control in the state of low speed state of the spool driving motor.
