A cleaning device having a cleaning member (8) provided at an insertion opening (2i) of a housing (2) into which a projection-like object (M) to be cleaned can be inserted and that is rotatable together with a brush mechanism (3), having on its upper side a cleaning section (8w), and having at its center an insertion hole (8i) through which the object (M) is inserted; an ejection section (5) having an upper ejection section (5u) placed above the cleaning member (8)and also having a lower ejection section (5d) placed below the cleaning member (8); and cleaning liquid supply means (6) for supplying a cleaning liquid (L) to the upper ejection section (5u) and/or the lower ejection section (5d). The cleaning liquid (L) is ejected to at least a point above the cleaning member (8) from the ejection section (5), and cleaning is performed while the cleaning member (8) is rotated. After that, the ejection of the cleaning liquid (L) to the point above the cleaning member (8) is stopped, and the cleaning member (8) is rotated to spin off the liquid.
