<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator unit having a friction drive type actuator, capable of ensuring both precision and high speed, and to provide a drive for an information recording/reading head, an information recording/reading apparatus, and a method of driving the actuator unit. <P>SOLUTION: After the friction drive type actuator is driven resonantly for high-speed movement, the convergence of residual vibration is awaited, or the residual vibration is forcedly converged. Then, the friction drive type actuator is expanded and contracted with precision for precise positioning, thus the actuator unit is provided which has the friction drive type actuator, capable of ensuring both the precision and high speed, the drive for an information recording/reading head, the information recording/reading apparatus, and the method of driving the actuator unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
