<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack controller that secures safety by properly selecting a battery pack to be charged on the basis of a current value in a system using a plurality of battery packs. <P>SOLUTION: A battery pack controller executes control for charging a first battery pack and a second battery pack. In this case, the first battery pack has a high energy density and the second battery pack is thermally stable even though having a low energy density. The battery pack controller supplies a current to either of the first battery pack and the second battery pack on the basis of a current value. Concretely, when the current value exceeds a prescribed value, the battery pack controller supplies a current to the second battery pack. When the current value is less than the prescribed value, the battery pack controller supplies the current to the first battery pack.
