PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing and development costs and shorten the time from applying power till having a state capable of playing a game in a game machine having a picture display device for displaying a display game and a performance control device for controlling the picture display device. SOLUTION: The performance control device is divided into a first performance control device 33 used in common in a plurality of types of models, and a second performance control device 31 specific for a game machine. The first performance control device 33 has a RAM 33c for storing performance data transferred from the second performance control device 31, and can retain data stored during power-off by a backup means (a backup power supply 37b). Alternatively, the first performance control device 33 has a replacement determination means (the first performance control device 33) for determining the replacement of the second performance control device, newly receives performance data and stores them in the RAM 33c.
