PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film which is excellent in laminating properties, hand-tearable properties, and bag manufacturing suitability, and is suitable as a packaging material for industrial materials, medical supplies, hygienic materials, foods or the like. SOLUTION: The biaxially stretched polyester film has a layer (a layer B) consisting of a polyester with a higher melting point than the melting point of a polyester of a layer A on both faces of the layer (the layer A) consisting of a polyester in which 3-100 mol% of dicarboxylic acid components constituting the polyester is composed of 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, and 5-70 mol% of glycol components is composed 1,4-butane diol. The end tearing resistances in the longitudinal direction and in the width direction of the film are≤40 N. The glass transition temperature of the film is≥65°C.
