PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an abnormal temperature rise in a head, and to ensure a long service life and the discharging stability of the head. SOLUTION: This inkjet recording apparatus has a plurality of nozzle trains, first temperature measuring elements which are installed at ends of the plurality of nozzle trains, and second temperature measuring elements which are installed at intermediate sections of the plurality of nozzle trains. Also, control is performed in such a manner that recording may be started when a temperature measured by the first temperature measuring element is within a predetermined temperature range, and motion by a recording head is controlled so that a temperature measured by the second temperature measuring element may become a predetermined upper limit temperature or lower. Also, when a difference between the temperature measured by the first temperature measuring element and the temperature measured by the second temperature measuring element reaches a predetermined threshold or larger, the recording is temporarily stopped. In addition, a recovering means of the inkjet recording apparatus is controlled in such a manner that the recovering motion of the recording head may be performed after the stop of the recording.
