PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loop back delay estimation apparatus capable of improving compensation accuracy to distortion generated when modulating transmission signals by eliminating the discontinuity of the data sequence of polar coordinate transformation output in the case of correcting the loop delay of loop back signals. SOLUTION: Prior to the execution of the estimation processing of the delay of the loop back signals by a delay estimation part 23, source signals are transformed to the signals of a frequency region and the loop back signals are transformed to the signals of the frequency region by an FFT computing element 11, and after arithmetic processing by complex dividers 14 and 15, a phase difference between the source signals and the loop back signals is detected by a phase difference detector 18. On the basis of the phase difference, the initial phases of the source signals and the loop back signals respectively are corrected so that the data sequence becomes straight by respective phase difference correction devices 19 and 20.
