PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multidirectional operation device that highly reliably detects the operation. SOLUTION: The multidirectional operation device 4 is provided with: an operation shaft 12 operable in multiple directions including a tilt direction; first-fourth protruding parts 18a-18d provided on the operation shaft 12; and first-fourth detection parts 13-16 respectively composed of each non-contact detection sensor that individually detects contact of each of the first-fourth protruding parts 18a-18d moving in accordance with the operation of the operation shaft 12. Each detection part 13-16 is provided with: a tilt detection portion for detecting tilting operation of the operation shaft 12; a rotation detection portion for detecting rotating operation of the operation shaft 12; and a shaft-movement detection portion for detecting axial moving operation of the operation shaft 12.
