PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fertilizer containing Mg(OH)<SB>2</SB>free from hurting the root of crop plants as a magnesium portion and capable of being stably and inexpensively supplied compared to an existing one and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The fertilizer comprises Mg(OH)<SB>2</SB>produced by mixing a first component containing at least MgO and a hydrous second component to react MgO with water in the second component.
