PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the biting force of wedge members for keeping a state that the orbital motion of an external tooth member is stopped, and in the meantime, to smooth the sliding movement when the external tooth member is pressed from inside to perform the orbital motion. SOLUTION: A reclining apparatus 4 as this connecting apparatus includes an internal tooth member 10 and the external tooth member 20. The cylindrical section 12 of the internal tooth member 10 and the penetrating hole 22 of the external tooth member 20 are eccentric to each other, and the orbital motion of the external tooth member 20 is stopped by the biting-in force of the wedge members 30A and 30B which are arranged in a gap between both parts. The wedge members 30A and 30B are removed from the biting-in state when being pressed by contact sections 52A and 53A and contact sections 52B and 53B which are formed on a pressing member 50 made of a resin. When the wedge members 30A and 30B are released from the biting-in state, the contact sections 52A and 53A and the contact sections 52B and 53B made of the resin slide on the inner peripheral surface of the penetrating hole 22 of the external tooth member 20 and press the inner peripheral surface.
