A dog snack containing pumpkin is provided to help the healthcare of pet dogs by reducing the peculiar smell of pumpkin. A dog snack containing pumpkin consists of 89wt% of pumpkin, 10wt% of water, and 1wt% of an additive, wherein the additive comprises spice and a scaling agent in a weight ratio of 1:1. The dog snack containing pumpkin is prepared by the steps of: (i) boiling peeled pumpkin; (ii) grinding the boiled pumpkin into paste; (iii) adding an additive to the pumpkin paste to make a mixture; (iv) forming the mixture into a fixed shape by a mold; and (v) drying the formed mixture by a dryer at 60~70°C.
