Disclosed is a high solid antifouling coating composition characterized by containing a carboxyl group-containing copolymer (A), which contains a structural unit derived from an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer (a1) and a structural unit derived from another unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer (a2) which is copolymerizable with the unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer (a1) and has a weight average molecular weight of 1,000-6,000 as measured by GPC; a multivalent metal compound (B) which is reactive with a carboxyl group of the carboxyl group-containing copolymer (A); and an antifouling agent (C). By using such a high solid antifouling coating composition, there can be obtained an antifouling coating film which is excellent in antifouling properties, durability and mechanical strength while being reduced in burden on the environment and effects on the human body.
