<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system which is increased in communication speed by expanding an accommodatable band, a gateway device, and an adapter device. <P>SOLUTION: A subscriber network 300 is provided with adapters 30 and 50 to convert an I' interface from a base station into an IP interface, and a physical layer interface is made optical. The gateway device 10 is provided with an optical accommodation unit 13 to accommodate optical fibers F from the adapters 30 and 50, and IP packets are converted into PCM data in the device. Thus, transmission data from an IP-configured subscriber network 300 can be switched in the gateway device 10, and a line switching network 100, the IP network 200, and the subscriber network 300 can be interconnected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
