<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate capable of efficiently taking out light without being affected by manufacturing accuracy, and irradiating light of narrow directivity and excellent collimation, as well as an image display device capable of displaying high-brightness and high-definition images by dint of such a light guide plate. <P>SOLUTION: The device is provided with a light guide member 22 totally reflecting light irradiated from a light source 21 and diffusing it inside, protrusions 25, 25... arranged at one face of the light guide member 22 and changing light paths of the light totally reflecting and diffusing inside the light guide member 22 in a direction different from the direction of total reflection, and collimator lenses 27, 27... arranged at a face contrary to that where the protrusions 25, 25... are arranged and collimating the light whose light paths are changed by the protrusions 25, 25... into parallel light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
