PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up the detection of respective input signals inputted from a plurality of input terminals. SOLUTION: A video display device 1 has the plurality of input terminals 18 for inputting videos from a plurality of kinds of peripheral apparatuses, the video display device 1 being equipped with: a connection terminal detecting means of detecting two or more connection input terminals to which the peripheral apparatus is connected; a transmission terminal detecting means of detecting two or more transmission input terminals where input signals are being transmitted among the two or more input terminals; a terminal detection information storage unit which stores detection information on the two or more transmission input terminals; and an input switching means of switching the respective transmission input terminals for video display based upon the detection information on the two or more transmission input terminals stored in the terminal detection information storage unit.
