PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head in which a distribution of a heating temperature in a main scanning direction of a single heater is easily uniformized. SOLUTION: A thermal head 10 has a glaze layer 12 formed on a supporting substrate 11, and on the glaze layer 12 formed is a single heater consisting of a first electrode 14, a second electrode 15, and a belt-like heater 16, and the whole of it is covered with a protective layer 17. When a distance to both ends from the center of a heater 16 in a longitudinal direction is represented by a distance x, in the first electrode width y of the first electrode 14, its increase rate is acceleratedly increased until a specified position from both ends as the distance x is decreased toward the center of the longitudinal direction. The increase rate of this first electrode width y is decreased toward the center from the specified position. The lead-out portion 14a of the first electrode and the lead-out portion 15a of the second electrode are then electrically connected to other circuit wiring of a wiring board 18 with a bonding wire W.
