PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which has at least two photo-conductors and a light exposing apparatus provided between the photo-conductors, has different scanning directions of light beams for one photo-conductor and the other photo-conductor, and prevents color from shifting by generating overshoot when the light beams of a light emitting means are started to rise. SOLUTION: A means is provided for forming overshoot exceeding a specified light emitting output in the light emitting means on the light exposing apparatus. The width of time of overshoot is made shorter than the width of time of light emitting for one dot constituting the image. The position of the overshoot formed on the dot formed on the same line on the material to be recorded on one photo-conductor and the other photo-conductor, is made to be approximately the same position on the material to be recorded.
