PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold clamping device capable of suppressing the deformation of a member to which a linear motor for opening and closing a mold is arranged. SOLUTION: The mold clamping device is equipped with the linear motor and opening and closing the mold by the relative movement of a movable element with respect to a stator of the linear motor. The movable element is arranged in a counter relation to a direction almost vertical to the side surface of the recess formed in a frame on which the mold clamping device is placed so as to be extended in a mold opening/closing direction with a rib arranged in the recess.
