<p>Provided are a golf club head, which can be easily swung without sacrificing the distance at the time of hitting a sweet spot and which minimizes the reduction in the distance at the time of an off-center shot, and a method for manufacturing the golf club head. This golf club head (1) has a hollow structure composed of a face portion (2) and a body portion (6). This body portion (6) has a front portion or a ring-shaped body trunk portion (26), and a back portion or a tail portion (27). The body trunk portion (26) has an average plate thickness of 0.1 to 0.6 mm. The tail portion (27) including a weight portion (8) has a mass of 20 to 70 g. If the rigidity of the face portion (2) is k<SUB>f</SUB>(kN/mm), and if the rigidity of the body trunk portion (26) is k<SUB>b</SUB>(kN/mm), k<SUB>b</SUB>/k<SUB>f</SUB> = 3 and 2kN/mm = 1/(1/k<SUB>b</SUB> + 1/k<SUB>f</SUB>) = 5kN/mm.</p> |
