<p>The control device (ECU) has an interface which initialize a structure-borne sound signal. An evaluation circuit is provided, such that the evaluation circuit generates a control signal depending on frequency analysis of the structure-borne sound signal. A memory contains a data regarding the frequency analysis depending on crash boxes (CB1,CB2). The evaluation circuit is executed as a function of the data of frequency analysis. A control circuit controls the pedestrian protection unit depending on the control signal. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling pedestrian protection unit.</p> |
