The method involves determining a communication service e.g. Bluetooth message, for transmission of a medium object e.g. video. The determination is made based on the medium object, a checking position of respective communication partners in a communication network i.e. mobile network (N), and/or device-specific characteristics of terminals (E1, E2, S) utilized by the respective communication partners in the communications network. A database (D1S) with communication services for the transmission of the medium object is utilized.
