<p>The method involves providing a water separator (WA) diverged from a filter (F'), over an exhaust pipe (14) to a nitrogen oxide-storage catalyst (Sk), for separating a gas mixture of nitrogen, air, carbon mono-oxide and water. A supply line (18) is elongated upto a filling height of a reduction material (R). A sheathed element heater plug (76) is formed in a cavity between the material and a cover. The plug is supplied with current through a relay (d6) during regeneration of the catalyst. The conversion of nitrogen oxide and ammonia to water vapor and nitrogen is performed.</p> |
