<p>A method and apparatus for removing liner bolts over a range of impact angles. Complementary liner bolt (20) and driving assembly (30) features cooperate to control impact of the driving assembly (30) upon the liner bolt (20). The liner bolt (20) includes a convex annular portion (24) on the end face of the bolt shank and a concave depression (26) in the end face of the bolt shank. The driving assembly (30) includes a concave driving face for impacting the convex annular portion (24) of the bolt shank at impact angles between 0-15 degrees. A spring-loaded guide pin (36) is seated in the concave depression (26) for guiding contact with the bolt shank. A retraction collar is associated with the guide pin (26) to retract the guide pin (26) as the driving member chases the liner bolt (20) from the surrounding structure.</p> |
