PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear transmission mechanism properly keeping a function and life, and also to provide a differential device using it. SOLUTION: This gear transmission mechanism comprises: a pinion gear 7 rotatably supported on a support shaft 5; and mating gears 15 and 17 gearing with it. In the gear transmission mechanism, projecting parts 11 are formed on a tooth bottom part 9 of the pinion gear 7 in a range without interfering with the mating gear 15 or 17.
