<p>The method involves measuring and storing signals provided by angle and control sensors (C1, C2) i.e. Hall effect potentiometers, when a towing vehicle and a trailer are aligned and when the vehicle is in maximal braking position with respect to the trailer. A specific relation between signal values and angle is generated for each sensor in a learning mode. The same value of the sensor (C2) is assigned to that of the sensor (C1), to correct the angle and to control a hydraulic control unit (UH) so as to modify orientation of steering wheels (200, 220) of the trailer in a regulating mode. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling steering wheels of a trailer, comprising an electronic unit.</p> |
