Image receiving layer (1) for recording graphical information transferred by transfer thermography comprises a carrier layer (2) and an acceptor layer (3) as a transparent layer composite. The carrier layer is made from amorphous polyester and the acceptor layer is made from a mixture of amorphous polyester with at least 10 wt.% polymer selected from the group of styrene polymers. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Data carrier comprising a core layer and the above image receiving layer; and (2) Method for the production of an image receiving layer. Preferred Features: The layer composite is formed as a single film produced by co-extrusion.
