<p>The process provides the step of applying a protecting layer of parylene on securities, in particular banknotes. Preferably, the process is conducted continuously and implies steps of transporting a set of printed securities into a lock-chamber before transferring it to a deposition chamber, in which parylene is applied by way of a chemical vapour deposition process. The securities obtained by the process of the present invention are more resistant to soiling, wetting and mechanical damage than securities comprising traditional varnishes.</p> |
