The new invention is a process for transferring images onto hand or machine created carvings or other relivo art. With the new process, a carving piece, with as much details as possible, is created from a selected printed image by utilizing Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines, with their newly developed special soft-wares, or manually. The size, dimension and other details of the carving are identical to the printed image. A thin flexible transparent film is adhered to the surface of the printed image using elastic transparent adhesive liquid or spray, available in the market. The backing of the print is then removed by using water or chemical solutions i.e. Peperex 100 - 150. If the print's backing is thick or coated (water resistance), that backing can be laminated by conventional methods and pealed off prior to using water or the chemical solution. After the backing is removed and image is dried, another film is put on the back of the image using the same procedure and adhesives, as before, creating an elastic encapsulated sandwich-form image. Depending on the carving material, the same or other type of suitable adhesive is applied on top of the carving. The encapsulated image is then put on top of the carving and heat and pressure applied utilizing a heating press or other special equipment. The heat application is for softening the films in order to be adjusted to the uneven surface and with the pressure the deep cuttings are covered, thereby the image matches the surface of the carving exactly. Applying adhesives (used for note pads) to temporary adhere the top film to the image, the film is then removed, at the end of the process, and a spray or liquid varnish is applied on top of the image for protection. After drying time, the image appears as a painting on the carving. The process can be used for other uneven object and new backings with smooth or rough surfaces as well. The new backing may be any kind of materials such as stone, brick, concrete, wood, metals, bones, glasses etc.
